The death toll from Covid-19 reached a new record in Portugal, with 156 deaths in the last 24 hours and 10,556 new cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 8236 deaths and 50,7108 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. There are 116,328 active covid patients in Portugal.
Out of 156 deaths, 67 occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Region (LVT), 36 in the North, 36 in the Centro Region, 11 in the Alentejo and six in the Algarve.
The highest number of infected people is registered in the Region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley with over 3793, followed by the North with over 3628, the Center with 2136, Alentejo with 475 and Algarve with 411.
The DGS bulletin reveals another 4460 recovered from the disease, which makes a total of 382,544 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Health authorities have 130,887 contacts under surveillance.
The DGS epidemiological bulletin also indicates that 4,240 are hospitalized, of which 596 are in intensive care.
