Police have taken under control six tractors digging illegal riverine substances from Narayani River in Nawalparasi West. Also, goods worth Rs 128,300 have been recovered from various places in the district.
Police have arrested a tractor (Lu 3 Ta 4608, Lu 4 Ta 3129, Lu 4 Ta 3157, Lu 2 Ta 3209, Lu 4 Ta 2026 and Lu 4 Ta 1263) for illegally excavating and loading sand from Narayani River at Susta Gaonpalika-3 on Tuesday. The seized tractors have been handed over to Susta Village Municipality Office for necessary action, said Raju Lama, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office.
Similarly, the police team deployed at Bera Police Station, Maheshpur and Bhujahawa Police Post has recovered 25 bags (725 kg) worth Rs 58,000 from Sarawal Village Municipality-7, Bhataulia. Similarly, Pratappur village municipality ward Police team deployed at Basahiya Green Kerau Police Station has recovered 4 bags (200 kg) worth Rs 16,000 being smuggled from Nepal to India at 3 pm.
Similarly, a team of Social Border Police Post, Maheshpur, has seized Rs 34,200 worth of chukkuls, captives, pipes and other hardware being smuggled from India to Nepal. Similarly, the police team of Police Post Gamei has recovered a lady’s kurta worth Rs 14,400.
Similarly, a police team deployed from Amaniganj Area Police Office has seized 100 kg of sugar in two bags worth Rs 5,500 being smuggled from India to Nepal in Palhinandan Village Municipality-2, Gopalpur. All the seized goods have been handed over to the Maheshpur Customs Office for necessary action, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Lama.
